Hijiri said there might be some way for the Amala Network to hook up to these alternate worlds, but I was originally uncertain of whether I wanted to see if that was the case.

But if I can't create a Reason, and there are all these people here who keep on asking me to follow them even though I don't agree with what they're saying... Maybe it's time for me to leave this place. The problem is, of course, I can't connect to another world and go back and forth to it... if I never visited it to begin with.

Abilities:

The Demi-Fiend gets his powers by consuming these things called Magatama. While one of these is active--

--while one of these is active, the D-F can learn different elemental abilities and is strong against the element that he's currently affiliated with, but weak against another one. There's LOTS of abilities for him to learn, and a total of 8. Nobody gives a crap about the passive ones here, so I'm just giving him eight abilities.

...What? How do you switch Magatama then? ...Honestly, I don't want to know. D:

- Fog Breath - Naoki exhales a breath of mist which shrouds his opponents and drastically drops their speed and accuracy.
- Rakukaja - Boosts defense for all allies.
- Dekaja - Removes the positive stat increases that all enemies have.
- Focus - Charges up for a really powerful physical attack.
- Diarama - Heals medium wounds for one individual.
- Tornado - Strong wind-based damage against a group of enemies.
- Divine Shot - Physical attack; a beam of light smashes into an enemy.
- Chaos Blade - Physical attack; an ethereal sword appears in Naoki's hand and he sends out a wave of energy which hits all enemies.

There are two other important abilities that the D-F has. The first, and most important, is the ability to negotiate with demons. The D-F can converse with demons and convince them to join him. If he gives the right answers to a demon (and it varies; for example, flattering one demon will make them like you, while the other will think you're sucking up), they may either join him or leave him with an item or money. Sometimes they automatically come up to him in the middle of the battle and ask questions. This is, however, only the case with SOME demons. Demons which are unintelligent (the beastly ones, the slimes, the spectres, etc.) or very powerful (either a higher level OR a higher class, like the Tyrants or the Deities) will not bother talking to him.

In any case, a bunch of demons can join, and as the game progresses, your maximum capacity increases. In battle, the Demi-Fiend can use one of his turns to summon or send back one of his companions. I... don't think he'll have this ability if he goes to another world, but it would be interesting! As he gets higher in level, he can recruit more powerful demons or merge two demons together at a Cathedral of Shadows, where a strange man has the ability to make a new demon with some of the abilities from the old demons.

The other "ability" he has is traveling through the Amala Network. Despite the fact I'm letting him have abilities he gets mid-game (which is pretty believable because DAMN GUYZ THIS GAME IS HARD), he's still not familiar with the Amala System. I'll explain that in-depth later, because it needs its own article, but BASICALLY it's a way to get from place to place. So... I'm thinking at some point, he'll become a World Hopper. We'll see.

Notes for the Psychics:

He's half-human, half-man, and a teenage man at that. He's seen the end of the world and has seen two people he knew embrace demonic ideals. He's... a little numb and traumatized. I'm sure a psychic would have to be pretty strong NOT to resist the "OMGWUT" about what happened.

Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/slash/etc?:

Eh... Ask first. I don't know if he'll be involved in the shenanigans.

Seriously, I don't think Naoki would be very excited about someone suddenly touching him, because it has become such a foreign thing at this point to be touched in an affectionate way. He'd wonder what's up, because those people who kiss you are PROBABLY GOING TO EAT YOUR SKIN.
